Show subcategories in Main Page (not sidebox)

Big time ago, i saw a contribution called something like "Amazon Style Subcategories" or something like that but i couldn't find it anywhere.

I'm looking to get a result like this:

and it was exactly what that module did.

If someone remember the module excellent else..... hands to the code :D Thanks in advance.

I'd love to have this, too! How would it treat subcats several levels deep?
