Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Yellow,

I just installed your mod ( v3.5.8 ).... I'm running zencart 1.3.8a.

I have everything installed and seems to be working, however there are some quirky things that I'm experiencing and wonder if you can offer some suggestions.

My Site address is http://www.kids-n-cribs.info/

If you do the following:

Click on left nav baby furniture -> Click Bonavita -> Click Peyton Collection -> Click Peyton Lifestyle Crib and you'll see the page seems to lose all its CSS properties. I checked the source and looks like the paths to the CSS files are correct.

Once you get to this point, everything is broken, can't add to cart, etc.

Similar behavior is present when you just select a manufacturer from the manufacturer drop down list.

Even if I do a simple search and try to click on a product, the whole product page gets messed up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

What happens here (css) is: you have a badly coded template, it is missing one important element: the base href

Why such an important element is missing? I guess only your coder can tell.

Anyhow, this line of code needed to be added to your html_header.php right above the <body> tag

<base href="<?php echo (($request_type == 'SSL') ? HTTPS_SERVER . DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG : HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG ); ?>" />

I guess you have to fix that one first before trying anything else.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Thanks for the quick reply.

And the huge tip. I'm not exactly how the heck that line got deleted, but thanks for catching my screw up.

Things look like they're working now.

On another note, is it possible to not display the stuff at the end of the product / category name?

http://www.kids-n-cribs.info/baby-gear-baby-carriers-slings-baby-bjorn-c-45_201_330/babybjorn-carrier-original-spirit-black-diamond-p-2136

for example the p-2136 or the c-45_201_330?

Yes, by upgrading to 3.6.1, turning link alias AND auto alias on, then clear your SSU cache via the SSU Manager.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

yellow1912:

But when I view your site I dont see any link in seo form anyway? So it's more like you have not turned on ssu in the first place?

Edit: You have the same mistake with giuly from the post above, you forgot to edit your html_output.php

Hey,

It appears i'm getting the same error. http://macdonald-sporrans.com/sitemapproducts.xml shows the old URL's, yet SSU is installed and working (latest version).

I have checked the html_output.php file and it has the SSU code added correctly.

I also notice, that we have 1200 active products in our store, yet the sitemap only shows 714! When i go into the sitemap admin and update the sitemap, it fails.

Using Google XML Sitemap. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Is there any way to change the delimiters for EZ Pages? Currently i use '-' as my default delimiter for the store, but EZ Pages have '_' as the delimiter. I would like to change that to '-'.

Thanks.

yellow1912:

Not sure if I get it right, but sound like you have 2 seo modules installed? Sorry but it will not work that way. SSU will not work with any other SEO module installed.

Yellow,

This time I tried getting all the SEO like fields removed from the configuration table and also all the files for the SEO URLS from http://smarterwebdev.com/pub/zencart/seo_urls/ removed from the domain.

I made a clean installation of SSU and this time, there's no options loaded for the Configuration > SSU. I tried go to extra > SSU manager but it does not shows all the sql patches has been installed.

Your site map is out of dated, it is not generated recently
When I go to http://m a cd on ald-sporrans.com/googlesitemap.php
I get

Please run this via your sql patch tool first:
delete from module_version_tracker where module_code = 'yellow1912_ssu';

Something must be wrong, because SSU uses whatever you set as delimiter.

Sorry, i'm away with the fairies today!

I meant that the define-pages like 'contact us' have '_' as delimiters. But i guess that is a ZC setting, not an SSU setting.

Indeed - there was a problem generating the sitemap - the files had incorrect permission settings after the site was moved from the old server to the new server.

Thanks for that - your help is much appreciated.

The name is the define page name and not generated by ssu but you can manually use link alias to change that if you want to. > fergusmacdonald:

This bug has been reported in version 3.5.1 and fixed. So it's more than likely you are using an old version. Please consider upgrading to 3.6.1
http://public.rubikintegration.com/

Hey Yellow, I downloaded the new version and overwrote all the existing simple seo files on the site but the problem remains...

Did you follow all the steps including updating the config in admin as well as clearing cache?

Hi there,

I went ahead and installed the beta version and all seems to be up and working.

I cleaned the cache and set the alias statuses to on. It seems like most of the links don't have the categories numbers at the end and sum do ( ie. click on Graco->Montreal Collection .. )

All the products seem to be working without the extraneous products ids at the end.

I cleaned out the cache again and it didn't change so I'm wondering if I forgot something.

Thanks, bryan

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Clear all your current link aliases, the fastest and safest way to do it is to use phpmyadmin and empty that table (empty, dont "drop" it), then clear your SSU cache. Also, what is your setting for max category level?

I've emptied the table and cleaned out the folders in the cache/ssu directory. Max category is set to 2.

Should this work?
