Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I have just checked your site, in your case the link should be

http://www.yoursite.com/store/index.php?main_page=wordpress&m=200903

Also, to answer your other question regarding manufacturer name
http://wiki.rubikintegration.com/zencart/modules/ssu/config
Check the "Additional Page Parsers" part

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

yellow1912:

/store/?cat=5

--> This is not a zen url, is it wordpress? Even if it is wordpress url there is something wrong with this url.
Zen will interpret this url like this

/store/index.php?main_page=index&cat=5

Prob2:
did you use: http://zencart-module-manager.googlecode.com/files/module_manager_rev16zip.zip

You are right about the "/store/?cat=5" problem. I'm not sure why wordpress is not showing up properly. I've contacted the module designer for WOZ module for help. Do you have any idea on how to make sure the URL comes out: "index.php?main_page=index&" instead of just "?"?

For the Module Manager problem, I figured that out. When I uninstalled SSU the first couple of times, I thought that admin/includes/module_installation and admin/includes/templates were only SSU files and I deleted the whole section. Forgot that MM had files in there too.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

for the link thing, you will have to look into the sidebox code where those links are generated. I suspect it can be something very simple to fix.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi yellow1912,

Its me again, I thought I had every thing all ready to go so I created a xml site map and added to my Google Webmasters Tools Dashboard. Let me ask this question first, when I Reset all cache do the url change? When I check my Web Crawl, for errors Google has 44 404 pages not found, URLs not followed 135. This one of the urls not followed, I clicked on the link and it took me to the shopping cart and it shows one in the shopping cart.
http:// https://www.currysgiftshop.com/african-...i-family-figurine-p-1033?action=buy_now Redirect error. That is 179 pages not being index. I hope you can help with this problem.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Well, first of all the link you posted is not complete so I cant follow, but I guess it's one of the buy now link, which leads to the second:

I dont know you you created your sitemap but if you used one of the modules available for zen (and you should use them), there there is no way you can have a link with the buy_now in there. That link should never be included in the sitemap in the first place.

Hi,

been trying to figure this out for the last couple of hours. Learn lots of what cannot be done. Haha... but still can't get it correct.

Seems to me that wordpress generates links as "?cat=" or "?p=".

I found that I can use the following links to get to the intended source:

That would mean that I need to find a way to add the word "wordpress" into the wordpress generated URLs.

Still finding ways to do that. If anyone has any remotely good suggestion, feel free to tell me.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I've tried to install this mod, and I must be doing something wrong as I get nothing and now my shop just appears blank.. again

I'm running 1.3.8 and have uploaded all the latest files as suggested and following the instructions here:
http://wiki.rubikintegration.com/zencart/modules/ssu/installation

There'll be something I've done wrong, but I have no shop at the moment!

When I click on Extras -> SSU Manager I just get a blank page, same with the SSU check page. I tried re-uploading everything in case something messed up that way, but still the same.

Any ideas what I've done and how to fix? :frusty:

Thanks

Site is www. creepy creatures online.co.uk

If these links are limited to the sidebox links only, I suggest you look there and check how those links are beinge generated.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Well, at first read - your module seemed to be just what I needed, which is a tool to manage rewritten url's within zencart. i followed the instructions, and basically it doesn't work.

i'm using zen cart within a drupal cms, and wonder if there are different installation instructions considering that? when i enable ssu, basically the pages in my store all just immediately get redirected to 'page not found'

http://www.mysite.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=76
becomes
http://www.mysite.com/shop/gift-certificates-c-4/site-gift-certificate-p-76 - which simply redirects the user to a 'page not found'

i went line by line in the installation checklist, and attempted to read through the forums, and perused the documentation on your wiki, but it just doesn't work.

can someone tell me where i should at least START to find the problem?

Page not found = your htaccess is not working:

  1. maybe you havent uploaded it or change the setting inside?
  2. or maybe your server doesnt have mod_rewrite enabled?

I Just clicked on that link in my post and it took me to Your Shopping Cart Contents, the same as is it did when I clicked on it in Google's error pages. The site map was created from a Google xml site map generator. I also have another site that was create from the same site map generator that doesn't have any errors, it also don't have the simple seo url. I think I fixed the problem with the shopping cart the first url in the sitemap was shopping cart html. I edited and remove it. This is the site map link. https://www.currysgiftshop.com/sitemap.xml it may be ok since i remove the shopping cart url. Now where did the 44 not found 404 urls come form. Here a few listed.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Well, you give too little info for me to investigate

Assuming you are using SSU 3.6.6. I need to know the module you are using to create the xml sitemap, the version you use.

You will also have to provide me a link to the sitemap which has the problem so I can have a look at the links generated.

I have mod rewrite enabled, i'll check the .htaccess file, what settings need to be changed? i apologize for the basic questions, but i've had some difficulty finding or navigating any documentation that might have been included and so turned to actual users for help on what looks like (if i get it to work) a perfect solution to my problem

All new versions of ssu come with a file called ssu_check.php which if uploaded correctly can be accessed at yoursite.com/ssu_check.php. This file will give you the correct content of the htaccess file.

you know, i realized that mysite.com/ssu_check.php does not work, however, mysite.com/shop/ssu_check.php DOES work, so is this an installation problem on my end, or a configuration problem?

No it is correct. I should have mentioned that the link should include the sub folder your store is located if any

My bad

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

damn would have been nice if the problem was so easy - well, that being said, > Warning Checking includes/configure.php

Warning Suggested .htaccess content
Success #### BOF SSU
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /shop/

Deny access from .htaccess

RewriteRule ^.htaccess$ - [F]

RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA]

EOF SSU

Warning Checking cache write permission

is what i get, i can't seem to find anything staring at me that is blatantly culpable, my own inexperience nonwithstanding

Hi,

figured it out at. I did some changes to a config file from the Wordpress on Zencart and it worked. The URL is not perfect but at least, I can use your program and not have any issues with the Wordpress part of it.

Thanks again for all your help the last couple of days!!
