Sorry to bump, but just in addition to the above post, could it have anything to do with having an SSL? it is a dedicated SSL certificate. Does the htaccess require anything different if SSL is enabled?
Chris

Can you replicate the problem on this demo site using 2.9.6:

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Yellow - It just worked fine on your demo site. Difference I see in your setup if having a .html suffix. Wheras I don't have any, could this create the problem?

Additionally, when you login on the demo site, you are simply redirected to /index.html , on mine it is redirecting to the following... /index/?zenid=i1a06tsrgv0jkd276n2o01fc84? zenid=i1a06tsrgv0jkd276n2o01fc84

So the homepage is /index with no suffix., why would it then be adding the / and duplicating the ?zenid

Any ideas? To see first hand, clear cache and use the login details I sent you if that helps.

Thanks, Chris

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I would suggest redownloading the package and upload it again, see if that helps first.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Problem still exists.
Can I not exclude the whole of the login process? It works perfectly through checkout and registration, categories and products, it's purely the login functionality

yes, you can just put "login" without the quotes in the exclude list.
It puzzles me tho, the root of this problem will need to be found out soon

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Problem still exists with login in the exclude list. It seems to be when it redirects to the homepage. With yours you get a perfect url, with mine you get a random / and the durplicate zenid.
What is it that generates that zenid? any way to remove it?
Any ideas if there would be a way to specify a particular generic 'success' page for after login? rather than it directing back the previous page? I just need a workaround of some sort for now. The site is live and it is essential I have the mod functioning for the cats and prods.
Oh the joys!

It was indeed a bug due to a typo, fixed

Thank you for reporting it.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Again Yellow,

I am hoping you can help me, I am having trouble with Simple SEO, I am getting the No input file specified error and have tried all of the steps included with the docs and searched this thread to no avail.

I am using:
GoDaddy
Dedicated IP
dedicated SSL
ZC 1.3.8a
PHP 5.0.27 (via cgi)
Apache

When I activate the php5.ini file I get a redirect loop error and the site goes down, Also I searched through this huge thread and saw a post about function parse_urlCOLOR=#007700[/COLOR] regarding GoDaddy but that function is no longer in the file so you must have updated it since then.

I've tried every thing I can find that is documented, Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gary777

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Gary, which version are you using, and do you have some info about your server? Also, post your .htaccess and configure.php here without the passwords.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi Yellow,

Sorry, I meant to provide that info...

It's a Linux server, and I'm using Simple SEO Beta 2.9.6 from the mods section that I down loaded last night

Here is the htaccess file:

#### BOF SSU
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
# Make sure to change "test_site" to the subfolder you install ZC. If you use root folder, change to: RewriteBase /
RewriteBase /

# Deny access from .htaccess
RewriteRule ^\.htaccess$ - [F]

RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule .* - [L]

RewriteRule ^(.+) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA,L]
#### EOF SSU
```And here is the /includes/config file
<?php /** * @package Configuration Settings circa 1.3.8 * @copyright Copyright 2003-2007 Zen Cart Development Team * @copyright Portions Copyright 2003 osCommerce * @license http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt GNU Public License V2.0 */ /*************** NOTE: This file is similar, but DIFFERENT from the "admin" version of configure.php. ***********/ /*************** The 2 files should be kept separate and not used to overwrite each other. ***********/ // Define the webserver and path parameters // HTTP_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg-http://www.your_domain.com // HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg-https://www.your_domain.com define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.cdmp.info'); define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.cdmp.info'); // Use secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('ENABLE_SSL', 'true'); // NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes! // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL) // these paths are relative to top of your webspace ... (ie: under the public_html or httpdocs folder) define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/'); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/'); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/'); define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/'); define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/'); define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/'); define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/'); define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'pub/'); define('DIR_WS_TEMPLATES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'templates/'); define('DIR_WS_PHPBB', '/'); // * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical) //the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files. eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/ define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/content/x/x/x/xxxxx/html/'); define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/'); define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/'); define('DIR_WS_UPLOADS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'uploads/'); define('DIR_FS_UPLOADS', DIR_FS_CATALOG . DIR_WS_UPLOADS); define('DIR_FS_EMAIL_TEMPLATES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'email/'); // define our database connection define('DB_TYPE', 'mysql'); define('DB_PREFIX', ''); define('DB_SERVER', 'xxxxxxxxxxxxx'); define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'xxxxxxxxxxxx'); define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'xxxxxxxxxxxxx'); define('DB_DATABASE', 'xxxxxx'); define('USE_PCONNECT', 'false'); define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'db'); // for STORE_SESSIONS, use 'db' for best support, or '' for file-based storage // The next 2 "defines" are for SQL cache support. // For SQL_CACHE_METHOD, you can select from: none, database, or file // If you choose "file", then you need to set the DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE to a directory where your apache // or webserver user has write privileges (chmod 666 or 777). We recommend using the "cache" folder inside the Zen Cart folder // ie: /path/to/your/webspace/public_html/zen/cache -- leave no trailing slash define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'file'); define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/content/x/x/x/xxxxxxxx/html/cache'); // EOF ```Is there anything else that may help? Unfortunately GoDaddy doesn't provide sever specs on the hosting page and I've misplaced my test php file... Thanks again, Gary777
Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]
Huhm, I dont know if someone else from GoDaddy has this specific error, but I think it may have something to do with getenv function, this function has been replaced in 2.9.7
ssu_beta_2.9.7(iis).zip
Try this version and let me know if it solves your problem.
Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]
yellow1912:
Alrite, as this may help others, I will try to go through each problem I encountered while helping jill8026 to resolve his problem:
Thanks so much for providing this explanation. It has gotten me so much further than I was when starting this install. Things seem to be coming together now, I've followed all of the steps you mentioned for people hosting w/ GoDaddy however I seem to be having problems with specific categories and pages.
For example if you go to my site:
http://www.sunshinecampingsupplies.com/
You will notice that the "Tents" category works great, however "Camping Chairs" just displays a blank page. I notice that this only seems to occur on Categories with 1 item in them.
Also if you go to Tents and order a Coleman Test Tent it takes you to a blank page with the URL /coleman-test-tent-p-13/action/add_product
I read something about Going to Extras > SSU Manager and delete my cache. I tried that and it works great for "all cache"and "category cache" but for the rest I get the message "cache/ssu folder is not writable Could not open dir". I've confirmed that all folders in the cache dir are set to 777. When I browse those folders I see that there are files in the cache/categories directory, but there aren't any in the cache/pages directory.
I'm using the .htaccess file you mentioned in that post about godaddy. here is what i'm using:
#### BOF SSU
Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
RewriteEngine On
# Make sure to change "test_site" to the subfolder you install ZC. If you use root folder, change to: RewriteBase /
RewriteBase /
# Deny access from .htaccess
RewriteRule ^\.htaccess$ - [F]
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule .* - [L]
RewriteRule ^(.+) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA,L]
#### EOF SSU
Anything you could do to point me in the right direction would sure be appreciated because I'm out of ideas here.
Thanks so much,
Tom
