Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

All Product link produces this too...

https://www.muranodisusanne.com/categories_name-c-0/book-mark-small-p-154

If this is standard behavior, can I define somehow that on product info page NO category is displayed in the url? I've tried to set "Set max category level" to 0 but this did not work.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

NO, same thing happens with the Category All Products. Every product accessed via all producst produces these wrong links.

Should I just remove my cache folder and then re-upload?

Dont set the max level to 0, set to 1 at least, see what happens. Note that cPath in product link is required by Zen, some modules use it.

Always clear cache when you change settings.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I already switched back to 1. Figured this could be the problem but was not. Did a reset after switching back, no success.

Interesting, since this works with no problem on my demo site. Can't think of any reason for this.
The module seems to be unable to get the cpath from from your products id.

What is your ZC version?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

OK, I found the problem. I imported a lot of products with Easy Populate and I had to do:
Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID

Now the url's build correctly. My mistake, SSEO was working right.

One question remains after upgrading:
It still shows: Beta 3.4.5
How come? Should now be Beta 3.4.8, right?

Actually there is a small bug, or rather a lack of feature in the manager. The version is not updated if there is no change in sql.
This will be fixed soon

This is good to know. Never makes you feel comfortable if after upgrading you still see the old version number show up!

Upgrading went well, no need to get nervous in this case. Thank you for your support.

Please post your SSU config settings. Something is still wrong.

For example when you visit

http://demo.rubikintegration.com/zencart/blade-runner-director-cut-linked-p-5
(cpath is cut off)
You will be redirected to a link with the correct cpath

This is not happening on your site. Not a really big deal, since cpath is always rebuilt by ssu when it outputs the links anyway. But it's just kinda weird.

Interesting, Im now using the exact same settings, cant duplicate the error.

Probably there is something different on either your product db or your server settings. I will investigate this issue later.

You have nothing to worry about tho, since such links are never generated to begin with, so unless the users intentionally remove the cpath, they will never get to those links.

I see that if I cut out the cpath the page loads but does not redirect. What would control this? Can I check something in my WHM or cpanel?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

SSU takes care of the redirect, it works like this in the product info link:

  1. get the products_id
  2. recalculating the cpath (SSU never trusts the cpath you sends ti it :p)
  3. if the regenerated link does not match the current link, do a redirection

This helps when you change the category names, or move the product to another category etc...(you need to clear SSU cache after you do those thing tho)

In your case, SSU correctly redirects the link if cpath is incorrect etc, it just doesnt do so if the cpath is missing. And since links with missing cpath are never generated to begin with, it's not a big deal (no need to stress over something that shouldnt happen in the first place)

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

i installed this mod on my 3 sites and the same thing is happening on all 3.. the seo parts works fine but when you do a search, it brings up all the results fine but you can't click on any of the products to get details.. it goes nowhere.. i'll keep in working on niagarapokersupply.com for today but then i have to shut it off as that is how most customers find products and i can see how this would frustrate them..

I believe someone had the exact problem and got solved. Which version are you using? Your php version?
