adding new section on homepage -

I want to add a a box above featured products and new products box on the homepage.... how can I do this and customize the header and inside of the box?

I know I can screenshot it and modify it and put it in here, but the header font won't be the same on both browsers, ie and firefox... because the headers on each browser are different sizes; firefox verdana 2; ie verdana 3 - that is why I want to add a new box appropriately

anyone have any idea on how to do this?

I want to basically make another section above featured products on home page that I can customize the text header and the info in the box, standard html.....
