Problem in checkout

Hi there,

I am having a problem with my cart in checkout. I am using version 1.3.0. The problem is, when a customer logs in and then adds to cart then later goes into checkout page 1, when the continue button is clicked the cust can go no further and the page stays on page one in checkout. In other words the customer can not proceed to page 2 in checkout.

However, if the customer chooses to make a purchase without logging in, they can go through checkout just fine, the order goes through, they get an email receipt etc.

Any suggestions as to where I should be looking to correct this? Is this a config problem in admin, or should I be looking to make some changes in zc files via vim? Or could this be a MySQL problem?

Apparently (I believe) this problem just started happening fairly recently, not absolutely sure on that though.

Re: Problem in checkout

Here is the store: www DOT eclyons DOT com

Correction. I’m using ZC 1.2.7 and php 4.2.2. At this time am in process of migrating the site to new server and upgrading ZC and php, etc and complete site upgrade to latest versions. For the (very) short term, I need to debug this.

I was thinking about just modifying the template to remove the “Returning Customers: Please log in:" dialog box, so that customers don’t even see a login and then each time they make a purchase they just enter in their name and address for the order. Ordering this way works fine. Is this recommended? If so can someone refresh my memory as to where the template is for this page?

Or, any other suggestions as to how to debug the login & order problem?

Re: Problem in checkout

I think this is related to the UPS shipping module. The error I am getting is:

We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown.

I read some previous posts about UPS ship mods and tried a few things, so far no luck. Have there been any changes with the way UPS processes rate quotes lately?

Anyone have an idea?

Re: Problem in checkout

Check to see if their server is down - if it is you will need to use an alternate shipping module.
