Lots of Manufacturers

I am starting a fragrance site (colognes, perfume, etc). For my store there will only be 2 categories (Mens and Womens fragrances) but tons of different brands. Basically the only way to organize the site is by allowing the user to shop by brand, but there are so many brands it would make my pages a mile long. Is there any way around this? Could I display like 30 brands at a time and sort alphabetically or by popularity or something like that? Any ideas appreciated.

Re: Lots of Manufacturers

First - bumping, especially after only a coupl of hours if frowned upon.

Second- you have a manufacturers scroll box that the size can be controlled or you could set up your top level categories for each the men and women. Then under them add the manufacturers as a subcategory or perhaps a range of manufacturers - a-c, d-f, etc with the individual manufactures under them.

Sorry about that I didnt know.

That is exactly what I want to do but how do I display a range of manufacturers and not all of them? Thanks.

Re: Lots of Manufacturers

Does anyone know how to limit the number of subcategories that display? Like how to list 30 at a time alphabetically or something similar???
