"New Products" not displaying correct items

I have noticed that the "New Products" listings, both on my store left column and the main center listing, is NOT displaying "NEW" product. It seems to just display random items...

SO - how do I set it so that only the newest items will display?

Re: "New Products" not displaying correct items

Under Admin->Configuration->Maximum Values->New Products Limited to... to set how many days count as new. Make it smaller. Could be it's set to all products. Especially on a new cart this is a problem.
