Using external http: links for main product images?

Is it possible to use external links for my product images? My supplier does not allow me to download the images to put on my server, but they do have links to the images that I can use.

I'm also interested in this.

Is there any way of using external image links?

This is a real long shot guys, and I would try this ONLY on a test shop first! (If a more intelligent person is out there - please intervene and if necessary, tell me I'm talking junk!)

In your configure.php file, there is a line that says:-

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

Perhaps if you put in the path the URL to your supplier's image directory, this will do the trick.

REMEMBER OF COURSE that this will be a SITE-WIDE setting, so NO IMAGES in your zencart images folder (or sub-folders) will be referenced.

...so there are likely to be wider implications... Try it at your own peril!

I'm still looking to do this. I have only one supplier that I need this for, so I don't to change the SITE-WIDE setting. Has any one figured out how to do this yet?

No... it's not possible (without some MAJOR hacks to the code).
