Template Restricted to 1.3.6

Hi All,

We've found a template we really like and upon close inspection it's noted that it works only with version 1.3.6. We have the current 1.3.8 installed. I guess my question would be can I download and install ZC 1.3.6, then install the template, then upgrade ZC to 1.3.8?

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Please read this thread before purchasing any template from them.

Unfortunately, people run into problems with "any" Template from TemplateMonster because they use different coding, which doesn't always work right with Zen Cart. It doesn't matter what version of Zen Cart you are using nor whatever version the Template is stated to work with, expect problems.

The only solution is to have someone recode the Template.

Run away! You don't want to use a TM template on any version, no matter how pretty it looks.

And if you were to install this "1.3.6 only" template and then upgrade, it would still be as broken as if you tried to install it on 1.3.8.

I don't know about paid ones.

When it comes to good Templates, that one has to pay for, there are not many sites available -- if any. I'm sure that is a niche that will be filled as the demand increases, for better Templates that work properly with Zen Cart.

In the meantime, if you really like that Template you mentioned and it is within your your budget, buy it from TemplateMonster then spend a few Hundred more to have it coded properly. Expensive I know but about your best alternative at this point.
