Re: Search log mod vs. user tracking

The names say it all. Search log: track what users search
User tracking: track user browsing behavior etc.

Re: Search log mod vs. user tracking

but isn't that the same thing?
wouldn't tracking the users browsing behavior and looking at what they searched?

Would I need to add both or will one do both jobs? If so which one?

Re: Search log mod vs. user tracking

The user tracking module tracks which pages a particular user vists and it logs search queries where as the search log just records the search queries.... So the user tracking module does both jobs, thats all you'll need.. Me personally, I just use the cpanel statistics programs.

Re: Search log mod vs. user tracking

Search log actually shows you exactly what people searched for onyour sit, not what they browsed to,

if customers start coming to your site and search for item a ( Which you dont carry ) then there will be no record of what they were looking for,

where as with search log ( marketers best friend ) you see at a glance exactly what people are searching for

take item A

if many people search for it and you dont carry it, dont you think its time that you do carry it...
and if you do carry it you know to raise the price 12% and put it on sale for 10% off, raise your margin and still make the customer happy

see ow handy this simple little tool it?
