can I import just my products & layout?

I currently have 1.3.02 and am having issues so I am wondering if I could just do a clean install of 1.3.8a and then somehow import only my products and template?? I can do my template fine, but curious if/how I could import my products/layout?? Is it possible??

Follow these directions to backup your database using phpMyAdmin.

Create a new database to use with the 1.3.8a store.

Install 1.3.8a in a test directory (as not to disturb your live store) and run the zc_install to correctly create the config files.

Use phpMyAdmin to restore the database you backed up to the new database.

Run the 1.3.8a zc_install again to upgrade the database only.

After that it's a matter of redoing your template.
