Downloadable product not showing in cart

Hey! I am not sure what my downloadable product should look like in my cart, but I have set my attributes and options, etc. for my downloadable product and can't click on the link in the shopping cart. I was thinking that it had to do with the filename so I added /download/continents.zip and the green dot turned to red when I updated the product. I am assuming that the dot MUST be green and that my original filename was correct. I set my option name as "Download" and dropdown--should it be radio button instead? The option value is named as "Zip file" and [DOWNLOAD].

Is there a sample of what a downloadable product looks like in a shopping cart? It doesn't send a link to the shoppers email, right? They should be able to download right from the cart? I hope I have given enough info--please let me know if you need more! Thanks for any help! Amber

I am so close to getting the downloads working!!! Ok, I now have the download button showing, but am getting an error when I try to download the product. (I get this error in both IE and Firefox) [see attachment]. I have installed the header_php update that was noted in other posts and I still get the error. Could it be the placement of my file? I have uploaded my zip files into the "download" folder in the root "shop" folder. Is this the correct folder? I did change the file attributes to 744 and the owner, group and public permissions. The public permissions are set to "read" only.

Is there a way to point to the download folder from within the Zen Cart admin?

Thanks so much for the response, but I finally found out that all of my attributes and options were set correctly and that it had EVERYTHING to do with the upgraded version of ZenCart. I downgraded to the last version of Zen Cart and my downloadable products work fine now. I am currently using version 1.3.7.1. Amber
