Upgrading database makes scrolling what's new box stop working

I've been troubleshooting this since last night and I am positive that this is what is causing the problem because with a test database, it worked fine. I imported the old database in and it worked fine, but I got the "your database needs patching" message because it was from 1.3.0.1. I ran the upgrade script and now the scrolling box won't work and only shows the same one new item over and over.

Any ideas?

Far as I recall this is a single file with no sql patch...

I didn't do a patch as part of the install, I installed it, then upgraded the database and it doesn't work after the upgrade. I also tried it on a different install and added the mod after the database was upgraded and it didn't work. Something is happening during the database upgrade that is making it shop working.

Check any support thread for it as it may not be upgraded to work with 1.3.8 if required

It worked fine with 1.3.8 until I upgraded the database, though and works fine with 1.3.8 on a new, test database...just not the upgraded one.

1.3.8 on a 1.3.x DB is not version 1.3.8 without an upgraded DB...

Check the mod support to see if this is happening to othes

You are not making much sense.
You said you were using 1.3.0.1 right? And then you upgraded to 1.3.8?
The process should include upgrading database + Upload new files to overwrite the old files. Did you do that?
And if you did that, you may have overwritten whatever change the scrolling mod made, you have to install that mod again.

I installed the store with Fantastico. I then imported the old database and ran the upgrade script. I then installed the mod and it didn't work. So, I installed a second store with Fantastico )(1.3.8a). I installed the mod first and added two products manually. The mod worked fine. I then imported the old database again and it worked fine. I then ran the upgrade script on the database and it stopped working.
