Billing and Shipping does not match

This is the first product I'm trying to setup and first time I've attempted to order anything on my site. I've tried to setup a free download as follows;

Product is Free: Yes
Product is Virtual: No, shipping address required
Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules

I've setup the Attributes and download filename etc.

FREE SHIPPING module is enabled

The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD module is enabled

When I try and order the product it goes through the following stages:-

• I Add to cart
• I hit Go to Checkout to end up at Step 2 of 3 Payment Info where method is Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD
• I hit Continue Checkout to end up at Step 3 of 3 - Order Confirmation, here Payment Method: has nothing written next to it, all costs are shown as zero.
• I hit Confirm the order to end up at Thank You! We Appreciate your Business!

However, when I look at my order it's status is Pending. In Admin the order has a red dot (Billing and Shipping does not match) and the shipping address is blank. At no stage was I asked for a Shipping Address.

Can anyone work out why I don't get asked for a shipping address.

What version Zen Cart are you running?

Clean install or an Upgrade?

What happens if you switch to the Classic Template?

I just noticed point 3 at the bottom of the FAQ says;

3 - Downloads in an order by itself will never see the checkout_shipping page ... if you do then your Product is setup wrong for Downloads

So the fact that step 1 of 3, shipping is skipped is correct. The only problem is zen cart then flags the fact that there is no shipping address but there is a billing address (even though it was free product) as an issue.

If I manually change the order status to Processing in Admin, the download becomes available.

Could someone else please check if they get a blank shipping address for a single product free download order on their site and if it also sticks at pending.

Could you set the Payment Module up with the Orders Status to Processing or Delivered ...

Downloads are available immediately when the Orders Status is >= 2 (Processing) and <= 4 (Updated) so this includes Delivered (orders_status 3) ...

Ok, thanks. I had assumed the red dot meant it had stuck.

As you suggested, I changed the ZEN FREE CHARGE payment module to set order status to 'processing' and voila, the download was imediately there.

Sure ... as soon as you rewrite the code to do this ... :smartalec:

This is not built into Zen Cart at this time ... and you would need to customize the code for something like this ...
