How can i remove the categories from the main page?

How can I remove the categories that are showing up in the center of the main page of my store?

I wouldn't mind them being at the bottom of the page (and smaller).

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Admin>>Configuration>>Layout Setting>>Categories - Always Show on Main Page
Set to 0 if you don't want them to show.

I managed to remove the Categories from the centre section of the main page by changing:

Configuration > Layout Settings
Then changing 'Categories - Always show on main page' to zero.

Hope that helps someone else!

(still haven't worked out how to make them appear small at the foot of the page though, which would be useful!)
