Free Shipping in U.S. for one product only

What is the best way to have one product available for free shipping in the U.S.?

I did my own quick fix by making that item a unique price, and changed the module code to check for that equivalent price in the minimum price field so that line 102 now reads:

if ($_SESSION['cart']->show_total() == MODULE_SHIPPING_FREEOPTIONS_TOTAL_MIN)

So the minum price now works as "make anything this price free shipping".

It's a dirty fix, but it works!
