Accepting Gift Certs

When I set up my store I disabled gift certs. At this time I would like to enable them again, and specifically set them up to only work on specific products. How can I do this.

Gift Certificates are Cash ... As such, they cannot be configured to only work for some products as someone paid full cash value to get the Gift Certificate in the first place ...

Why would you want to limit their use? :unsure:

mainly because the purpose of this would be giving a discount on a very specific product to a select number of people...is there another way to do this?

You could use the Discount Coupons ... and configure them with unlimited uses and 1 use per customer and set restrictions for that one product ...

Is there a guide you can point me to in order to config all that? Or if not can you write down the steps I need to take in order to do that.
