PHP Error messages in my Zen-Cart 1.3.8 are missing

For example, if I put an error word "a" into includes/modules/pages/index/header_php.php on around line 53:

// query the database based on the selected filters
$listing = $db->Execute($listing_sql);
a

In Zen-Cart 1.3.7, it throws out a page with error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in D:\apache web server\barryjaymarine\includes\modules\pages\index\header_php.php on line **52

**But Zen-Cart 1.3.8a shows blank screen, nothing, nada there.

Has anyone know how to handle this issue? I think this is very vital for me.

Thanks very much.

Re: PHP Error messages in my Zen-Cart 1.3.8 are missing

To avoid showing errors when sites go live, they have been suppressed. However there is now a debug add-in available from the downloads section that will write them to log files.

(or you can temporarily comment out line 56 of application_top.php, but don't forget to put it back and don't tell DrByte that I told you)
