Simple Category Tree

I'm having the follow problem:
Anytime someone tries to checkout with paypal, I am getting arrays in my Paypal_Action_EC*.log files for ALL categories, ALL subcats, and ALL products.

Why might it be related to Improved SiteMap? I don't know that it is, but I just find it strange that it is ALL products, all categories, etc. Basically it spits out everything one would expect, such as the cart total, contents, etc., and then goes into the "category_tree" array. The below is a snippet of this, showing the start, then I cut out a large section and show the tail end of log. This is creating 47,398 lines total in the log...

=================================

as you could imagine this takes a painfully long time to complete the checkout process. I'm also pretty sure all of this data is slowing other areas of our site as well. I'm not using the simple category tree as a standalone mod, but I am using all subcats mod. Does anyone know how I might modify the files so that the simple_categories_tree array doesn't get loaded when unnecessary? Or can I get rid of it and still have all subcats functional?

Re: Simple Category Tree

I hve been working on getting this to work on my store for two days now and can't get the categories to show up in my sidebox. I don't know if this tread is still active but I'm really stuck now and can't think what to do next.
After debugging I am not getting any errors but I'm not sure about the output on my /templates/categories.php page I am currently using

$content = $_SESSION['category_tree']->buildCategoryString('ul', 'li', '', $_GET['cPath'], 1, false, true);

But no joy box is still empty. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Simple Category Tree

Many thanks for the show sub category products mod. I installed it and it is doing it's job.

There's just one problem... It's doing its job too well. I no longer have control over the main page, as far as I can see tpl_index_default.php is no longer being called on the main page, and consequently the index define page is not working either. I don't necessarily mind the products being listed on the main page, but I do want to include the usual stuff at the top (or at least the define page).

Does anyone now how I can get the normal stuff to display on the home page, with the sub cat mod still working when a user clicks on a top category?

Thanks

Re: Simple Category Tree

Disregard last, I found a workaround. Basically, requiring tpl_index_default.php when not viewing a category instead of tpl_index_product_list.php. Also a few more changes to make it work correctly with sub category listing and manufacturer filtering.

Re: Simple Category Tree

Hey I really appreciate the all products from subcategories add-on but I just added products to a category and the mod is working for one category but not for another (exp. It will list all the products in the subcategories of one category but for another it will only list the names of the subcategories i.e the default). Anyone know why?

Feel like I'm digging up dead threads here but I haven't seen an answer to this. I'm having this same issue where I added a bunch of new products / categories and it's not showing anything from the new categories. This is using the all_sub_cats_products.zip.

Tried this:

mkonchalski:

Try This...

In the Includes / Classes folder open the file SIMPLE_CATEGORIES_TREE.PHP and set the first line of code it says....

define ('SCT_REBUILD_TREE','false');

>
> Change that line to:
>
> ```
define ('SCT_REBUILD_TREE','true');

That should do the trick for you.

Still no go.

Cleared all browser cache's, cleared \store\cache (left index.php, .htaccess), tried on another computer, even had someone not in my home try it on their computer.

Posted it in another part of the forums but yeah no need to go into that. Finally found the original thread here that I found the mod in but still no answer been trying to fix this for days. :frusty:

Re: Simple Category Tree

I've installed the all_sub-cats_products addon and it works great, thanks! I've wanted to have this feature for months. However, before I would click a Category and see the 3-20 subcategories and their icons, but now I only see the Category name/description and the product listing. Is there a simple way to get the subcategory names/icons showing up again above the product listing?

Thanks!

Re: Simple Category Tree

vandiermen:

Hello,
I and 5 other people I have seen in the forum are looking for a way to list sub category products in the main category.

I added the simple_categories_tree.php and config.simple_categories_tree.php from yellow1912's list zip file
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=697991&postcount=204

Can anyone tell me what else I have to do to list all products of each subcategory when click main category ? :lookaroun

P.s. I did not get an error when I added these files, but that is all I did(add these files).

Did you ever find an answer to this? All_sub_cats_products doesn't seem to be doing it for me.

Re: Simple Category Tree

Ok, I take that back... All_sub_cats_products is doing it for me. I'm getting all of my subcategories to display on the main category page:=)

I need help with this though, I have 2 subcategories in the main category, each subcat has 3 items. Right now I'm getting 6 products total to display on the main category page, but I would like to display the heading for each subcat at the top of each list of 3. Just to present the 6 items in a more orderly fashion. Does anybody know how to accomplish this?

It looks like each group of 3 is separted by the following div class "centerBoxContentsProducts hidecenteredContent mainCol back".
