Re: catalog and language conflic

If installed right you should have 2 product description boxes, one for each language, in your admin when you setup a product

Re: catalog and language conflic

Newbe here,

We have an English only test site. We installed easypopulate on this site. We got a csv catalogue from one of our suppliers and we made the csv file fit the easypopulate model. We uploaded the csv file to zen cart through easy populate. We did a mysql dump of all categories and products. We overwrote all categories and products tables with this data then made other necessary changes directly to the data base on 22 sites. The only site where it doesn't work is on the french site. This site was set up with French and English but only uses French. We have set the data base products and categories to 2 which corresponds to french (language_id=2) in the data base in all records. The categories and products do not show up. What are we missing??? Thank you

Posting the same issue will not net you a faster solution.....

Please do not post the same issue in multiple areas.

Communicating on message boards, via PM and email is different from face-to-face communication. Only the words are seen, not your facial expressions or tone of voice. Please pay careful attention to how you use your words.

That's not meant to discourage spontaneity, but just a friendly reminder of the long-term existence and effects of what you post.

You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else's opinion. At times like these, please keep in mind it's safer and more polite to take issue with the comments rather than the person.

Re: catalog and language conflic

I'd suggest that everyone take a deep breath and perhaps our new folks could take a walk around the house and chill out a bit ...

Sticking to one thread and keeping your posts together does help a great deal on one topic ...

No one here is bent on causing you distress ... and everyone here are often seen helping numerous users from beginners to old timers ...

So, if you are feeling threatened when folks are offering you help or suggestions to eliminate problems or confusion for you in the future ... I'd sort of look at it as them just helping you play in the sandbox and pointing out which corner the cat might like to use so you don't wind up sitting in it ...

Now do play nice kids ...

KoBra:

If installed right you should have 2 product description boxes, one for each language, in your admin when you setup a product
As by default one must enter each product details in the product entry screen in each language - I do not see how having never done this - that the DB insertion and alteration to "2" would change the language of the description.
Unless I missed something in your posts??

Have you installed this where you see 2 language description boxes in the product entry area?
