How to add a pdf product spec

Hello,
I have searched High and low but i have been unable to find an answer.
I wish to give the owner of a website the ability to add (ie upload to server) a pdf file to some of his products (spec sheet). Sort of in the same maner as he uploads a product image.
Also, when a customer views such a product (ie one with a spec sheet) he has the option to "click to view"

Is this something that is "doable" for someone that has very very little php knowledge?

I realize that we could just add a link to the pdf in the description text of the product. or add a product url when creating a product BUT it means having the client upload his pdfs seperately when creating a new product.

As you already know this can be done- but as an admin function would take some custom coding - It is not a default operation

Well I a doing some reverse engineering. I am slowly (VERY SLOWLY) copying the "image" extensions and replacing them with "PDF" in collect_info, update_product.php, preview_info.php etc... and definining them in the english.php (admin)
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide me with ALL the names of files I need to update my "PDF" code it would save alot of time.
