Shopping without logging in...

I apologize if I've missed the post(s) that resolve this situation. I couldn't find it/them. sigh

I have created a site for a friend (www.celebrationflags.com) and it's working quite nicely for the most part. In IE7, the customer can't seem to look around without logging in. We want them to be able to look at all of the products as much as they would like and only have to log in if they want to put something into their shopping cart. Since IE is used by so many, she is receiving quite a few emails complaining.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Shopping without logging in...

I tried on 3 different computers yesterday and could not browse without logging in.... Now I'm more puzzled because it's working on my work computer. Wish I had of tried it on my home computers this morning.

Any ideas why this may do this (apparently it's spratic)?

Re: Shopping without logging in...

I'm not completely awake... Don't know what spratic is. blush

I did clear cache yesterday when viewing and it kept taking me to the login screen. I hope customers have stopped having the problem too.

Thank you for checking it kobra and marcelo63. I'd appreciate if someone else can create the problem and has some insight.

I LOVE Zen-Cart, but still using training wheels!

I have only 2 month of experience on Zen. Going around up and down and finally after trying so many paying and free shopping cart this is the most reliable neat and friendly I could find.
For my point of view. IF there was a log in in IE, should be a log in in Safari, Firefox, etc
the only explanation is that
admin -- customer details --> Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
was set to 1 or 2 accidentally

Re: Shopping without logging in...

Thank you Marcelo. I had the problem on IE7, but not FF yesterday. I even changed the login to required and then back to not required thinking that might 'reset' something.

Guess this may remain an unsolved mystery.
