The actual New Products on Main Page

I did a searchbut not sure of how to word so I wasn't able to find what I was looking for.....

In osCommerce, when you add new products it shows up on the main page. In Zen the new products area randomly places all products there.

Is there a way to have Zen show the actual new products in the New Products for February section ???

This is the only thing that has bugged me about Zen, and I am sure it's something easy because everything is perfect.

admin > config > Maximum Values > New Product Listing - Limited to ... > select from options

This is a problem for me too, but slightly different. I have it set to 14 days but I don't want random items. I'd like for the exact last eight items I inputed to be what appears in the New Products for Month box. None of my items are ever the same so there would never be a problem of eight of the same thing, I just want only the last eight to be in there, not a random assortment of any time setting.
