Adding an icon on the categories nav

My website is https://www.orcharddirect.co.uk/store, i would like to add a small icon next to the categories list.

An example of what i am talking about can be found here

they have used the arrow icon 'includes/templates/Slovak_Classic/images/bc_cat_pointer_right.gif' Obviously i would like to replace this with my own icon but do not know what php/css section i have to edit to achieve this. Any help appreciated cheers!

Download that template and grep the files for bc_cat_pointer_right.gif

Or you can use Better Categories Mod..
in downloads section..achieves almost same
result

I downloaded that template, i tired uploading tpl_categorie from that dempt and also tpl_document_categories however nothing at all happend? What do i need to do exactly to achieve this? cheers

The Slovak Classic template is actually using BetterCategories, so you should just download and install that mod to get the same look.

says it works with 1..3.5 version, will it work with 1.3.7? as that is my current zencart. Thanks for the fast replies.

People keep installing it without complaint, so I presume it works. I know the tpl_categories.php file is unchanged since v1.3.5 (up to v1.3.8a at least).

Can confirm Better Categories works up to and including
ZenCart 1.3.8.a

Add on didnt work, i followed all the steps perfectly, all that happend with it deleted everything in my nav wrapper...NICE!

Since other people install this mod without problems, I would have to say that somehow you didn't follow all the steps perfectly.

You might want to try again, and follow the installation steps one by one.

Lol already done that 10x.... have tried everything i can think of.

Then I suppose it's down to figuring out what is different about your situation that the standard steps are not working.

I have created a new template in order to put this mod on, i copied all of my old templates files into the new template file so that it will have the same look. I then added the new images, then created a sidebox file and put the categories php inside it. Then changed the template in admin.

and this deleted everything inside my subnav :S:S:S:S:S

Can you see anything wrong there?

I don't see anything odd about the file/folder structure.

Have you tried installing the mod on the classic template? That would tell you whether it is an issue with your custom template and help narrow down the possibilities.

You might also try Categories Dressing, which includes the ability to use custom list markers (you can turn off the rest of its functions as desired). It only affects the categories sidebox. It modifies the same tpl_categories.php file that BetterCategories does, so they can't coexist in a template.

Na no mod was installed on the classic template, i just named the new one classic slide as the the nav was going to be a horizontal slide, and just decided to keep the name to speed things up. Ill look into the other categories mod cheers
