How to make free downloads instant?

Should I have my default order status set to 'delivered' so all of my downloads are accessible right after checkout?

I have some free downloads I'd like customers to be able to download right away once they order. How can I make this happen, without risking my other pay-for products?

I think I fixed it - changed the order status of the zencart free charge card to delivered. Right? So only free products are accessible right after checkout?

If a default status is set to pending, for paypal, it does automatically set to 'delivered' once payment is confirmed... right?

If they are Free Downloads you could setup the Free Charger freecharger and set that to Orders Status Processing (orders_staus 2) or Orders Status Delivered (orders_status 3) but that will only help when these downloads are the only products in the shopping cart ...

On any other Payment Module, unless they are also set to Orders Status >= 2 or <= 4 the Downloads will not be immediately available ...

Unfortunately, if you have other Downloads you cannot initially set the Downloads available on these Free Ones without a lot of custom coding to manage this ...

If all Downloads could be immediately available based on Payment Module used and its Orders Status, then all can be released without intervention required on the Order in the Admin ...
