hiding categories

is it possible to hide a category while displaying others, what i mean is, i create a category but don't want to show it on the site but still make a link to it elsewhere?

You've probably solved this issue already, but there is a module in the downloads section called hideCategories.

I think that's what you're looking for.

This mod did not work for me. It screwed up my left category listing box and ended not hiding any of the category. So I've turfed it. Shame it didn't work
