Main Page Category Image Size

Hi,

I have 'Categories - Always Show in Main Page' set to 1, as I want them displayed, but can someone please tell me how to change the size of the image that is displayed. My stock images are 150px by 150px, and I want them larger. I've changed them to the desired size, but the image size on the main page does not change.

I've adjusted every size that I can find within admin but I've not hit the right one yet..!

I know its probably staring at me, but after looking for an hour I'm over it.!

Please help save my grey hairs and put me out of my misery..

Actually I do have another question relatin got the Categories on the Main Page

Can you select which categories get presented onto the Main Page or is it a case of one in all in..?

Main Page Opens with Category;
set that to the category id you want to open with, or 0 for all categories. (You can't have two categories opening on the home page - it's none, one or all.)

I understand you can have the main page open to a specific category,

But with 'Categories - Always Show on Main Page' , enables all your category icons/images to be displayed on the main page, my question is, does it have to be all categories displayed, or can you limit which ones. Eg, you might have 30 different categories, but just want to show the top 5 or so on the main page.

There is a mod by yellow1912 (link in his sig) for "all cats & products on main page" that could be edited to suppress the ones you don't want. I haven't used it so don't know more than that.

For that matter, it should be possible to hard-code a list in perhaps tpl_index_categories.php or tpl_index_default.php and only allow cats on the list to display on the home page.

i got to admin> config > but i dont see sub catergory images is it somewhere else?

the truth about the category image size:
there is no way to adjust the category image size for the area where you are listing your categories and using an image above the category name.
the truth is that the zen cart grabs the information regarding those image sizes from the image file its self.
SO.... if you want your categoy image to be 100x100 you must physically create your image with those dimentions.
And even more truth .. that image dimension is the ONLY image dimention that is NOT adjustable via style sheets or from the admin area ... ODDLY ENOUGH .. nice little ZENQIRK eh'.:cool:

Sorry, this is incorrect.
Configuration > Images > Subcategory Image Height/Width will control the display height and width of the images in the category listing, although they may not make them display larger than the actual image file pixel sizes. Doing that would degrade the image quality severely, so you wouldn't want that anyway.

I guess its just not been my experience so far......that adjusting the subcategories image size actually displays the Categories images in any other size than what their true dimentions are. I have made the adjustments for the subcategories image size to be 200 in the admin .. and yet the categories images when displayed on the categories index page still display in thier true size.
Why doesnt zen just offer up a .....category image height and with as well as subcategories and categories icon so on and so forth? seems strange.

Hello to all,

I have the same problem, i can't change the image size of the categories on the homepage.

When i change the image size in admin/images --> Category Icon Image Width - Product Info Pages

for example to 200 px, the image is still the same, but in the productpage info, THAT image from the category is changed to a bigger image, but not the image from the categories in the home page.

I have spent so many hours to figure it out, but not succesfully.

You have to adjust the two:

Subcategory Image Width
Subcategory Image Height

Not the Category Icon Image, this one is for the icon on top of the product detail page, representing the category you are in.

When I change the image size from the Subcategory Image Width and the Subcategory Image Height, still the images of the Categories on the home page, are the same.

What changed are: the images of the subcategorie on top if you go into the category, so before you enter productlist.
