Select which category products are shown under New Products?

Hi Guys.

Is there a way to select just a few categories/subcategories from which the new products will new shown from? Coz I got lots of categories which are updated frequently but need only a few category products to be shown on the front page as they are more important products ... Any clues? I am sure there should be an easy way to do I just couldnt find it on the forum.

Thanks & Appreciate the help!
