My overrides don't work blank store screen!!!!

Ok using the tutes here and after getting the eBook...I have followed it all on creating the over rides etc...called it faerie but when I choose faerie template in admin tools and then take a look at the store front it is completely blank...no error messages just a white screen!!! help i have followed everything.
What ever i have changed ie the index.php etc i have made a copy to my faerie folder and changed it so i have the original...what's happening??
I need help on this please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I changed in header where it says Alternative Text
And Tagline

I changed where it said in header.php
Alternative text & Tageline...i haven't changed anything else in the header and it appears that this is what is causing errors

All i really want to do is remove zen cart promotional default text etc and put my own instead is that too much to ask lol.

i only changed in header.php the alternative text and tagline...nothing else was changed. AHHHH i changed the copy that i had saved in english/faerie directory...that's what the tutes say and the ebook i went through each step carefully. What have i done wrong and how do i fix it?

Let me ask again .... What exactly did you change?

Post the content of your edited file here. You've likely made a mistake and caused a PHP syntax error such as adding extra ' marks etc.

i worked it out...no one said until too late when editing PHP that in the test if using ' marks i needed to put a \ before it...lol i was putting in FaerieMajikk's OOAK Supplies and not putting the \ before the 's luckily i stumbled across it all thanks guys!!!
