Turn off sub category listing?

I vaguely remember that we can turn off the sub-category listing on the main column (whenever you visit a category that has sub cats)
Can this be done thru admin or must I hack into the code?

Can you elaborate?
Do you mean turn off the sidebox?

Or just suppress the display of subcategory names under the selected cat?
This can be done very quickly via CSS by adding this to your stylesheet:
a.category-products {display: none;}

If you want to prevent it from querying the database for the subcat details, you'll have to write custom code.

Nice. I guess we can go with the css methid.
