shipping options have disappeared from checkout?

I installed 3 instore pickup clones that as of last night, were working fine.

Since then, I haven't done anything to alter the install, but as of today, the shipping options simply aren't appearing on the checkout page at all.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the shipping modules. I've tried uninstalling, deleting the files, THEN reinstalling.

I've tried simply using the preinstalled shipping modules (freeshipper, flat rate, etc). Those don't work either. nothing seems to trigger the shipping modules coming up on checkout.

I tried installing all the original zencart files for the shipping modules in both directories...... nada.

Help? the site is azrawbones.com

Re: shipping options have disappeared from checkout?

Looking at your site, I see weight in text on the products but I believe you have 0 weight on the Products Weight products_weight field ...

If you have 0 weight means Free Shipping set to YES in the Shipping/Packaging then the only Shipping Module that can run is the Free Shipping freeshipper ...

If 0 weight does NOT mean Free Shipping then set this to NO ...

When Free Shipping freeshipper is showing in the checkout, all other Shipping Modules are hidden ...

If you do not have Free Shipping freeshipper installed and 0 weight is set to Free Shipping ... then you will see NO shipping modules at all except for Store Pickup storepickup and Store Pickup is coded to be allowed to show at the same time as Free Shipping freeshipper ...

Re: shipping options have disappeared from checkout?

first, thank you for responding. its greatly appreciated. a cup of coffee is coming your way.

second, I'm not sure I understood you.
When Free Shipping freeshipper is showing in the checkout, all other Shipping Modules are hidden ... (i assume this to mean when the product weights are NOT set to 0, otherwise this and the last statement you make seem to contradict)

If you do not have Free Shipping freeshipper installed and 0 weight is set to Free Shipping ... then you will see NO shipping modules at all except for Store Pickup storepickup and Store Pickup is coded to be allowed to show at the same time as Free Shipping freeshipper ...

basically.... there is no shipping charge. ever. for anything. its all local pickup. So is the solution to remove the "0" weight off all the products, and simply create a flat rate shipping of $0.00 and then storepickup will show up?

If I remove the 0 weight, do i need to put a weight in there or will it default to something?

If I have to change the 0 weight on all my products, is there a way to do so universally or do I actually need to go in and alter each one separately?

Re: shipping options have disappeared from checkout?

First ... go to the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... and set to 0:

Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status
If there is no weight to the order, does the order have Free Shipping?
0= no
1= yes

Note: When using Free Shipping, Enable the Free Shipping Module this will only show when shipping is free.

Now you will see your Shipping Modules such as Flat Rate flat or Item Rate item ...

Be careful about cloning Store Pickup storepickup as this coded to behave a particular way based on its name for when Free Shipping freeshipper is being used ...

If you have 0 weight does NOT mean Free Shipping and are NOT using Always Free Shipping YES on any Product then you should not need the Free Shipping freeshipper shipping module at all ...

In theory, your three storepickup clones should work, but that would not be my idea choice of what to use ... Flat Rate flat would be a better choice to work with all conditions ...

If, however, they are still working for you with your current Products, then you should not have a problem ...

Re: shipping options have disappeared from checkout?

Okay, have done as instructed, however I still have no shipping options at checkout. I have set freeshipping to "0" and have only flat rate installed in the shipping modules, set to sort order 1.

Now that I understand how to clone, and that I can easily change the display names of the module (from flat rate to a store location), if that's your advice, I'll clone those instead, happily. In the meanwhile, suggestions for how to get the shipping to appear?

A bug in any one of the shipping modules can cause all of them to not display.

The easist way to find the culprit is to disable all shipping modules, then re-enable them one at a time until it breaks again

If you did a database backup before your changes / problems then import that using phpMyAdmin or whatever method is easiest for you.

If you did "not" do a database backup before your changes / problems then contact your Hoster and see if they can provide a recent one.

Silver lining to this story is that you should now have a helpful reminder to always do a database backup before attempting multiple module / cloning.
