HELP! I have no idea what Im doing

Hi... can someone please give me SOME direction?! lol I am new to this whole zen cart thing... I have NO idea how to install the cart to my site. Im sure its easier than it looks but I need clear direction. Someone...anyone... please help my sorry, little self. :frusty:

You may like to consider choosing a host that will not only do the installation for you, but do a lot of "hand holding" in the initial stages of your e-commerce venture.

You may not need to change hosts. Ask your current host if they can install zencart for you. They may charge you a small fee (and I mean SMALL) to do this, as it only takes 20 to 30 minutes to install for a professional.

Additionally, if your host has C-Panel (an administrative tool for the server accessed by site owners via a browser), it is likely that they have a facility called "Fantastico".

You can install zencart using "fantastico" very easily, but there are some considerations...

1. You'll need to be sure that you are installing the LATEST version of zencart (1.3.8a).

2. Once installed, you still need some knowledge of how dynamic content sites work, as the numerous settings and configurations in zencart (as with ANY content management site) can be complex.

Keep in mind that easy is a relative term...

ZC is easy in comparison to lots of other shopping cart systems, but like any thing you are just beginning with, you'll have to learn the lingo and get your feet a little wet with it!!
