Image Handler and Easy Populate?

Sorry for the noobish question...

I have a store with about 1000 products that are updating constantly as I sell on eBay too.

I use Easy Populate as it is a great little tool.

I am currently manually editing my images with some batch commands in Photoshop to their respective small, medium and large sizes. Then I manually upload the images to the site via FTP.

My question is:

Is there a way to simply upload a single large image for each product and then have something like Image Handler 2 automatically resize it for the small and medium images?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Image Handler and Easy Populate?

So, to answer my own question...Image Handler just works....doh!

On my test site I have some mods installed that I guess were "breaking" image handler...but after clean install of zen 138a and nothing but IH2 and EP, it works like a charm....Just tested by uploaded the images to their respective directories and pointed to them in EP and voila....IH generates all the sizes for me...plus the hover feature is kind of eye catching. Don't know yet whether it will lead to more sales or not though.

Thanks Zen Cart! You rock!

Re: Image Handler and Easy Populate?

You make an interesting point.

I generally limit the use of bolt-on modules to the bare minimum - especially for the front-end (shop interface).

I have a more relaxed approach to the admin side, where there is more justification for tools that help you analyse the store, and make its admin efficient.

To me, IH and EasyPop are essential - and I forego all others that may conflict with these two.

Re: Image Handler and Easy Populate?

I agree some things you can't live without and anything that makes automation easier such as EP and IH, makes the site much easier to manage.
