Javascript Showing in Product Description Preview (when viewing a Category)

Hi,

I am redoing my product pages with an expand description option (using javascript), see it in action here:

The problem now is that the javascript is showing in the product description preview (the first 150 characters that are shown when someone is viewing a category), which looks very messy. See here, fifth product from the top:

Can I do something about this without having to turn the descriptions off, which I don't want to do. Could I load the script in some other section of the page possibly by putting it into a tpl file?
