Disappearing sideboxes on home page

Disappearing sideboxes on home page

I have upgraded to 1.3.8 from 1.3.7 and found a bug I can't figure out. All my sideboxes on the right side appear with every link on the page except the home page. For some reason the right sideboxes dissapear on that page. It never used to do that with the previous version.

Can anyone figure out why this would happen?

Actually it doesn't JUST happen on the "home" page. I've noticed that it also does it on all of the "information" pages as well.

Never mind I fixed it. Seems it was related with my overrides. Thank you for your time.

Actually it wasn't related to my overrides. The permissions on html_includes was incorrect. Does anyone know what the permission is supposed to be for this directory for security?

Depends upon your server but most can be set to 644 and function

Hmmm 644 doesn't work. Actually the only permission that does display the pages properly is 777. Does anyone know why this is? And would this permission pose a security risk?

I need to read closer....
The dir needs to be 755 - 775-or 777 depending on your server config
The files after you are finished editing can be 644
