Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

stevesh:

Looks to me like your site is now operating properly, SSL-wise.

You still have the secure/non-secure error on the login page, caused by the W3C logo at the bottom - I'd just remove that if it were me.
Hi,

Could someone please tell me how I could remove the image W3C Xhtml on my footer ? Which file I should edit inorder to remove it.

thanks

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

Check tpl_footer.php and remove this:

**<div class="valid" align="center">
<a href="http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=referer"><img src="http://www.w3.org/Icons/valid-xhtml10" alt="Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional" height="31" width="88" /></a>

</div>**

Thanks a lot, Stevesh. Atlast I removed the troublesome image icon from my footer. Now the pop up box doesn't come up anymore.

thank you once again.

Cheers

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

Hello,

Ever since I redesigned my website I am getting this pop up window with the security warning: "this page contains secure and non secure items, do you want to display the nonsecure items?" But this happens only in IE browser and not in firefox. I checked the source code of the browser too but it is too long to display it here. Please check out my website https://www.indicana.com on and IE browser and let me know.

As I have little or no php knowledge I don't know which files have the non ssl url links. I would apreciate if someone helps me locate the files and fix the problem if this is what is causing the securtiy warning window to pop up each time a customer tries to sign up or login or go to the checkout and payment pages.

My host provider confirmed that the ssl has not been forced on the entire website but just redirected to the signup, login, checkout and payment pages.

I would appreciate if someone could help me fix this problem.

thanks

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

As per the FAQ link I posted earlier:> DrByte:

Searching for that error message in the FAQs area brings up this article:
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=150

... your problem is a link to a non-SSL image in your footer:

<a href="http://www.preconstru*****programs.com/har*****-loan.php"><img width="153" height="45" border="0" src="http://www.credit-card-logos.com/images/multiple_credit-card-logos-2/credit_card_logos_28.gif" title="Haoans" alt="Har*****oans"/></a>

(note: ****s added to obfuscate urls to other sites)

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

It's your Loans image in the footer. I'd just remove it.

One way you can sometimes find stuff like this is to go to the page in question, and when the error box comes up, click 'Yes" then look at the page.

Then refresh the page, and when the box comes up again, click 'No', and the problem image often willappear with the red 'X' in place of the image.

Doesn't work every time, but it's worth a try.

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

Hello Dr. Byte,

Thank you so much for helping me find the root of the problem. I located the link in the tpl_footer file which is in includes/templates/My_template/common/tpl_footer. When I removed the image link the security warning window did not pop up. But I have to use a visa/mstr card image logo on the footer. How do I use a secure html code for the visa/mstr card image logos? I searched on google but all of them are advertising for the company that offers the free logos. Is there any logo that comes with a https html code? I would appreciate your help.

Thanks a lot

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

If you're looking for authorized logos for your site, you should contact your merchant company, since they can give you logos in compliance with copyright.

Re: Secure & Non-Secure Items with IE

Hi
i'm getting this message on https://www.lookwhatwefound.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=checkout_shipping

I have viewed the source with and without the non-secure elements displayed and they are both identical. As far as i can see there are no images with hard-coded links although there are few other links - could this be whats causing the problem?

If anyone can have a look at the page and let me know it would be much appreciated!
