FedEx module causes my ZC1.3.8 cart to hang

I just installed the FedEx module and now my cart hangs when I click on "Checkout". I turned off the module and the cart works fine.

so obviously its the module, but what might I have done wrong? I removed the files and downloaded the zip again, and uploaded to my server... but it still hangs.

is this a known problem with 1.3.8?

Are you sure that your running cURL on the server?

If not then it will cause timeouts

Isn't cURL required to install ZC? The install went fine.

I find that if I "remove" the FedEx modules in the Admin/Modules/Shipping things move OK. But if I enable any of them I can see my cart, but can't move forward to checkout.

So it is my understanding that the Fed Ex module does not work with Zen Cart Version 1.3.8. I have been trying for days to get it to work. So I guess I need to work with some other shipping module in order for my shipping rates to work.

It has been very frustrating, because that is the only thing holding me up in opening up my store.

Could someone please advise on when or if this will be fixed? HELP, what are your suggestions. Thanks

make sure that you have curl working,

My curl is working, I just got feedback back from my host support. So now what are my options. Maybe I am missing something in the installation, do you have any other suggestions. I have installed and reinstalled several times.

Which version should I be using? Please advise.

is your host using curl compiled in php or is it set by proxy?

My host is compiled in php.

My curl is enabled and they said that I did not need proxy settings.

In the downloads there are different versions of the fed ex module, I used the most current version 1.3.7.

what exactly is happening when you turn fedex on,
what do you get when you turn on the debugging in the fedex modules?

I put in a test customer and go through the process and add a couple of items and I get to the shopping cart and I test the estimate shipping and it seems to work fine, see below.

Then I go select go to checkout button and it pulls up step 1 of 3 - delivery information - It has shipping method: Please select the preferred shipping method to use on this order. BUT there is nothing listed to select a shipping option. It only has a special instructions box and no list comes up of shipping options to selct one.

It asks you to conintue to step 2 and then it just hangs because I have not selected any shipping option. Is there a way to add an attachment I could send you a screen shot. Maybe I don't have something configured correctly. I have been working on it for a couple of days and I'm no programmer.

I am having a similar problem.. I have curl properly configured (my host uses a proxy) FedEx is the only shipping option I have active, and I have NO shipping options displaying in the shopping cart. Interestingly the FedEx rates show up in the "Estimate Shipping" popup window..
