Right way to encode links inside text? zen_link?

Is there a right, Zen-Cart way to encode links used inside of product description HTML text? Should I use function zen_link? Does it correspond exactly to zen_ez_pages_link described in the FAQ: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=251?

I didn't find anything about zen_link in the FAQ.

What I mean is... sometimes I want to push product B right inside product A description. Yes, I use CrossSell, but you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see that... no I don't want to stick it high on the page, either.

I've been doing the typical

<a href="./index.php?main_page=document_general_info&cPath=4&products_id=162">

Just wondering if there's a better way.

The plain a href is the best way at the moment.
