set up downloads from a different server?

I'm looking at a different way to set up my downloads for purchase.

I have another hosting account from which I host a good bit of files already that I sell on ebay. I really don't want to double up on them and host the same files on two different accounts, and I would like to keep many of my downloads on my other hosting account, and still put some new ones on the same account the store is hosted on.

For the ones that I want to put in the local download folder, I'm cool with. That's easy

My question is, how can I direct customers, after they purchase, to download the files that they purchased, if I have them hosted from a different hosting account? The other files I typically keep in password protected directories.

Is there a way such that for a particular download, instead of showing them a link from my store's server, I show them a link to my other hosting account with a login and password? Or perhaps setup an auto email to email them with the information?

Keep in mind, I want to have my cake and eat it too, I want to be able to sell downloads that are located on this hosting account, and direct some items to be downloaded on a different hosting account.

Is this at all possible? Anyone have any creative ideas?
