Problems with "You must select a state from pulldown"

I also have a problem with state/province functionality.

have set State - Always display as pulldown to false.

In New Address Book Entry you can type in your state/province and then submit the information.

You are then challenged by the following error:

Please select a state from the States pull down menu

and you cannot complete adding a new address entry

have I missed something in the setup or is this a bug. If it is a bug any chance of a work around.

Your issue is different from the one posted above.
Yours is a result of using a template designed for an older version of Zen Cart or a result of missing various jscript_xxxxx.xxx files on your server which are used to handle control of various input fields on account creation.
It is not a problem on an uncustomized default Zen Cart install.

What happens if you switch back to "Classic" template?
What is the URL where this can be seen?

I get the same problem on your site, but I don't get it on the Cherry Zen template demo site nor in a fresh install of Zen Cart.

Is there a trace facility that will record what the app is doing?

Sorted.

I had a record in Zones for the country - United Kingdom with null zones and null code.

Deleted the record and then the probem was solved.
