Using Coupon Admin for Fundraiser - Need $0 Off

I am creating a site that will be used for general retail sales and fundraiser sales. ( https://www.hangupyourpride.com/index.php ) The products will cost the same either way, but a portion of the proceeds will go to the organization offering the fundraiser. We only want them to be able to purchase specifically categorized items and have a portion of those proceeds go to the organization.

We need for them to use enter a code so that we know that they purchased for that organization.

I am thinking that modifying the coupon verbiage to read fundraiser is the solution. I can use it to identify the category via restrictions, and I've modified most of the language files to read "fundraiser code" instead of "dicsount coupon." So now the problem that I'm running into is how to set the coupon for $0. It will not create with that amount. I've currently set it to .01 discount, but that feels clunky to me.

I'm hopeful someone will have an idea on how to modify this, or even a fresh approach to my situation.

Nevermind. I found out that the client will be offering a discount to fundraisers. I don't know if anyone else will need functionality like this, but I do not need it at this time.

I've just been looking at how to do this as I want to do something similar (and give 10% back to the organisation for any purchases that come via them and the discount code i gave them.)

It seems possible to do using the Customer Referral option, once you have created the organisation's 'discount code'.

You can then get a report on what orders came through using this code.

Creating a coupon for $0.001 works in 1.3.7 and 1.3.8 - it is tracked through the system but does not alter the price.
