Image scaling

Hi,

I have turned on image scaling as not all my images are exactly the same size.
Thing is i am trying to figure out if it the height or the width is taken as the set maker and the other scaled in proportion.

Im confused as for example I change the height size of 'category icon image height - product pages' and this alters the size (modfying the width doesnt affect anything)

Then I went and changed the height of 'image - new products' and nothing happened - so i changed the width and it changed.

So its looking like some fields take the width and some take the height to be the guiding factor in scaling. Can anyone tell me if they have found this - and more importantly has someone documented which does what as it will be a real trial and error pain to find out which does which.

I just deduct or add the same amount to both sets of values ( height and width - I believe the default values are usually 100 by 80 ) it keeps things simple from my point of view.

My site is https://www.darkrealmfox.com and i have installed Image Handler which you might want to consider as it allows you to add a classy feature to your site so that people can hover their mouse over the image and see a larger one without clicking it to enlarge.

You might also want to go to maximum values and change the layout of your pages and add or deduct the amount of images seen per category.

How Do I scale the category image???? I created an image to ocupy the top part of the body for the products page, but it gets scalled down to a tiny pictures...

Please help!
