How do I collect Sales Tax with Local Pick Up?

Is there a way to set up Local Pick Up so that my local sales tax is added to the price, despite the customer's billing or shipping address? I've searched the forum and not found an answer.

Ok, I figured out a work around for this if anyone's interested. Substitute NY for your state.

First, enable Table shipping. Go into the php file and change "Table" "Best Way" to whatever you need, like "Store Pickup" "Local Sales Tax Apply".

Set the numbers to 25:0,50:0,10000:your local sales tax%

For Queens county, which is 8.375% tax, I made it 25:0,50:0,10000:8.375%

Don't forget the percent sign...this will add whatever percent your local sales tax is to the order total.

Tax class - none.

Create a separate tax zone with a rate of 0% called NY - Local Pickup. Add a statement to the Table file so that people with your state as their shipping address know to change their state to NY - Local Pickup before selecting local pickup, so that they are not charged twice for the local tax. People with out of state shipping addresses won't need to change anything. For this I said "Store Pickup - If your SHIPPING state is NY, you must change it to "NY - Local Pickup"

I need to charge local taxes for walk-in pickups. Can anyone suggest a method to accomplish this by using the local tax module or by using tax zones?

I'm offering free shipping on all products on the website. The tax works just fine (including the Local Sales Tax Mod) when selecting that option, but when a customer chooses In-Store pickup, only the state tax is displayed or applied. The Local Sales tax just doesn't come up.

Example:
Customer in same zip as showroom orders a product for free shipping, he pays state and local tax.
Same customer orders same product for in-store pickup, he pays only state tax.

How do I make the in-store pickup apply the local tax?

   b) OHIO shipping or pick up from our store –taxable 7.75%
   c) Out of state shipping – no sales tax
