No products/customers showing after my upgrade

I'm having a weird problem after upgrading, namely that when I click one of the product categories (in the automatically built menu), the page abruptly ends with "Filter Results By". One category, which has only one item, works fine; the others with 2+ products cause this problem.

I also don't see any customers. But I did use "Database Upgrade" and the only error was the missing LinkPoint table (which I never had).

Any thoughts anyone?

I think one of the moderators moved this into its own thread and gave the message a new title, but it's not the customer tables that are the primary problem (in fact, in the process of installing QBI and Super Orders, that problem seems to have disappeared.)

It's the Products lists that are missing. I can see all the individual products, but searches turn up an empty list and so do links to categories.

BTW, this problem appears in the default template as well as my own.

I've tried everything I can think of short of reinstalling ZenCart completely. Does anyone have any thoughts about why the product lists might be missing? There is nothing beyond the "Filter result by:" label (from TEXT_SHOW). I'm suspecting a PHP error, but I see no errors reported.

If you've got sections of your page showing up blank, it could be that you've created syntax errors during your merging of customizations into the updated code.
