Specials - weekly insted of monthly?

Hi,

I'v searched all the treads on specials, but i can't find help anywhere. I want to change the mountly special, to a weekly special. Anyone with experiens on this? The special module generates the mounths description, but i want to decribe the week number insted. A lot of work?

you can set specials to any date range you like... One Day, Two Days, a week, a year...

Use the spiffy calendar to choose your date range.

Thanks for the reply, but this does not help me. I know that it is possible to change or to set the date for the products spesified as specials. But, i want to change the modul. From displaying specials for each mounth, to display for instanse spesialc for week 32. Anyone?

What's the point of advertising something that is (or may not be) available to the customer?

If it's MARCH, why would you want to excite customers about specials that will only be available to them in SEPTEMBER?

Zencart is programmed to determine the CURRENT date. Then it looks in the database for any specials that are configured to be available at the current date.

So, if you apply a date range of 1 March 2008, to 7 March 2008 to a Specials Product, zencart will display the date during that date range. If you configure other specials to range from 1 April 2008, to 7 April 2008, zencart will WAIT until 1 April before it shows the product(s) as a special.

I do not see the point of saying to your customers "I know it's only MARCH, but here are the specials we are offering in SEPTEMBER".:dontgetit

If your objective is to alert customers to forthcoming sales (or special offers) that will be available at a future date, then you should look at other marketing tools to do this - some of which are built into zencart (Banners and Newsletters, for example).

Soory, but you don't know what i am looking for. I want to display the offers weekly, not monuthly. As simple as that.

Then set up your specials to run for a week... As simple as that.

Zencart works on the Gregorian Calendar (like the rest of the world) where the year starts in January and proceeds over the next twelve months to December.

Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec

You are looking to divide the year into 52 weeks

Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, etc all the way up to Week 52...

Sorry, but zencart can't do this as it relies on the universal Gregorian System.

Unless you install some (complicated) software, you probably won't be able to achieve this...

Someone with server time knowledge and PHP will have to help you.

Never mind I found out where to change it at. It is in the /includes/languages/Your_template/english.php
