Subcatagories missing from catagory main page.

Greetings,
I have a catagory with 19 subcatagories. The catagory mainpage will display links to 16 of them. It excludes the first 3. I have changed the sort order, and it still excludes the first 3 subcatagories with the lowest sort order numbers. Any ideas?

Thanks
