site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

Hello. To those that are using the site wide, category & product mark up add-on there is a bit of a typo in the instructions listed in the admin area. :oops:
It shows this => Example: 100%, c(2,3,5-20):150%;p(100-200,9):$200
the issue that will cause some confusion/problems is that you need to place a semi colon behind the site wide percentage mark up like so => Example: 100%; c(2,3,5-20):150%;p(100-200,9):$200 not a comma as the example shows

Sorry about that :blush:

Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

info on sql patch.

if you have a prefix added to your Db where would you add that in?

heres the error i get, so i assume its because of my prefix (hsp)

1146 Table 'hallowe3_myhs1forum.zen_configuration_group' doesn't exist
in:
[SELECT @last_id :=last_insert_id() FROM zen_configuration_group;]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

When I try to install the sql, I get this error:

1062 Duplicate entry 'MARK_UP_STRING' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added) VALUES ('', 'Mark up String', 'MARK_UP_STRING','0','Define your mark up requirements here, separated by semicolons(";").

Format: [default markup]; [c or p]([category / product id values, separated by commas, also able to accept range]):[percentage / dollar amount]

Example: 100%, c(2,3,5-20):150%;p(100-200,9):$200

In the above example, mark up by 100% for all products, 150% for category id 2, 3, and 5 to 20, and add $200 for products ids 9, 100 to 200 ', @last_id, 1, now());]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

This is the actual sql file:

INSERT INTO configuration_group
(configuration_group_id, configuration_group_title, configuration_group_description, sort_order, visible)
VALUES (NULL, 'Sitewide Mark Up', 'Config options for Sitewide Mark up module', '1', '1');

UPDATE configuration_group SET sort_order = last_insert_id() WHERE configuration_group_id = last_insert_id();

SELECT @last_id :=last_insert_id() FROM configuration_group;

INSERT INTO configuration
(configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added)
VALUES
('', 'Mark up String', 'MARK_UP_STRING','0','Define your mark up requirements here, separated by semicolons("\;").<br /><br />Format: [default markup]; [c or p]([category / product id values, separated by commas, also able to accept range]):[percentage / dollar amount] <br /><br />Example: 100%, c(2,3,5-20):150%;p(100-200,9):$200<br /><br />In the above example, mark up by 100% for all products, 150% for category id 2, 3, and 5 to 20, and add $200 for products ids 9, 100 to 200 ', @last_id, 1, now());

Can someone help a zenner out?:D

Thanks

Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

Is there a way to set so you can mark the price range?
Example:

$0 to $10 markup 20%
$10.01 to 20.00 markup 15%
$20.01 and up markup 10%

Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

Hi

I have installed this module as its a great idea and due to the amount of products my customers would like to just add a % markup.

All sounds good and looked good, until we started to test payments via PayPal and Nochex.

With PayPal there is a Currency/Amount Mismatch as show below in the log file.

Dec 09 2008 11:39 -- IPN WARNING :: Currency/Amount Mismatch. Details:
PayPal email address = sales@*****.co.uk
| mc_currency = GBP
| submitted_currency = GBP
| order_currency = GBP
| mc_gross = 1.70
| converted_amount = 1.00
| order_amount = 1

The product item is £1, the markup tool makes £1.70 but PayPal does not like it.

Have I done something wrong >?

I have tried entering a percentage two ways as follows: 50% and 50%;

Nochex is not working either but that may be a red herring as paypal works fine when i turn the Markup Module off, Nochex still does not.

Im using the latest freshly installed version of zencat (1.3.8a) and the current DB level (1.3.8).
My hosting company is running PHP Version 4.4.9 and Curl is enabled (if it makes any difference >?)

Thank you in advance, Any help is appreciated.

Kind Regards

Chris

Does anyone know if this works with previous versions (e.g. 1.3.7)?

Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

Just so you guys know I had this mod coded for me by jaycode you can track him down on the forum or on his website webextremecustomizer.com . If you email him there he may be willing to help (assuming he's not to busy).
I can't code my way out of a paper bag so I am of no use in these areas

Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification

I wanted to post this for the community in case it helps other folks since it seems like we're all having the same issue installing this mod. As many have found out, if you are using a table prefix, this SQL script that comes with this mod will bomb out. Unfortunately once it bombs out you have to remove any rows that MIGHT have been added to your database, re-upload all of the mod files again and start over.. So here's how you should modify the SQL before you run it.

INSERT INTO TablePrefix_configuration_group
(configuration_group_id, configuration_group_title, configuration_group_description, sort_order, visible)
VALUES (NULL, 'Sitewide Mark Up', 'Config options for Sitewide Mark up module', '1', '1');

UPDATE TablePrefix_configuration_group SET sort_order = last_insert_id() WHERE configuration_group_id = last_insert_id();

SELECT @last_id :=last_insert_id() FROM TablePrefix_configuration_group;

INSERT INTO TablePrefix_configuration
(configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added)
VALUES
('', 'Mark up String', 'MARK_UP_STRING','0','100%; c(2,3,5-20):150%;p(100-200,9):$200', @last_id, 1, now());
``` The items highlighted in red should be replaced with your table prefix. If you are not using a table prefix, you can simply remove this text. The last part highlighted in blue needs to be changed because what's in the mod files is incorrect and and an invalid value for the column. Instead IMO these instructions should have been included in the readme file.
> Define your mark up requirements here, separated by semicolons(";").
>
> Format: [default markup]; [c or p]([category / product id values, separated by commas, also able to accept range]):[percentage / dollar amount]
Re: site wide, category & product mark up Clarification
Installed mod and configured and was working perfect until I installed msrp_display mod. Now the price on the web page shows the cost of the product but when I send it to the cart it reflects the marked up price. Any help would be appreciated.
So how do you remove the rows if you have already run the SQL. I can't find my database backup so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a way to set so you can mark the price range?
Example:
$0 to $10 markup 20%
$10.01 to 20.00 markup 15%
$20.01 and up markup 10%
I installed the mod hoping it would do the same, I need a sitewide markup % by price range so badly.
Any ideas, surely this mod can be slightly edited to accomodate this function.
Thanks... :)
Welcome to sql world again. :) the installation of applications to the zc admin is different under 1.5 than erlier versions. Need to read the FAQ on doing this. I think it is admin page registration.
Need to be sure that you have a define for: BOX_CONFIGURATION_MARK_UP_STRING I think it is. It's been a while since I have had to do this myself. I know that I provided a link to the faq in a previous thread with you, but I don't recall the details.
