Template adjustment

I just got back from my client and was asked to change the "Important Links" to be more prominent.
Is there anyway I can change the text color for just that area, or the background of just that area, or do anything that will make that area stand out?

Thanks
Robert

You can add these declarations to your stylesheet.css and style them as you wish.

#ezpagesContent {

}

#ezpagesHeading {

}

Thanks, that worked like a charm.
Any idea on how I can get the multiple columns working on either or both of my sites? robertensing.com or karatjewellers.ca

On robertensing.com I have the option to select the number of rows/columns but they just don't display on karatjewellers.ca I have the option to switch between colums/rows but no option to change the number for each. :-(

If you're talking about the center column boxes (new products, specials, upcoming products) the options for how many show up are found in:

admin -> configuration -> maximum values

One one site the option is there but it's not working. I can set it for whatever number of columns I want but it still only shows 1 column.
The other site has the option to switch between columns or rows but no option to adjust the number for each.

Re: Template adjustment

I'm still not clear on what it is you are referring to.

The Categories/subcategories?

The products?

or

the center column boxes (new, specials, upcoming)?

Do you have specific page(s) you can point out and what it is you want to accomplish.

On the products page you're supposed to be able to select either columns or rows. That I can do on either site.

Then you're supposed to be able to select the number of rows or the number of columns. On robertensing.com I can select the number but it's not displaying that no matter what number I put.

On karatjewellers.ca I don't even get the choice to put in a number.
robertensing.com is 1.3.7 upgraded to 1.3.8 while karatjewellers.ca is a fresh 1.3.8 install where I've tried to add the column module which didn't work either.

Hope you or someone can help as I appear not to be the only one that has this issue.

Since youre in the CSS anyway....
If you want to actually make the site bigger then look for the #mainWrapper tag.

Re: Template adjustment

If you have not gotten the Column Grid mod correctly installed in the karatjewellers site, you will never get the products to display in a grid. The database can hold the info for the admin buttons, but they are useless without the files installed.

I don't know that the files are installed in the correct directories because according to the folders they came in, the includes folder has MODULES and TEMPLATES, when I drill down into the TEMPLATES folder there is a YOUR_TEMPLATE which if you drill down on it contains another folder called TEMPLATE so I'm a bit confused.

But you are correct, in this current configuration it's never going to work. I could use some help to fix this and so far haven't heard anything other than that other people seem to be having the same problem.

Thanks
Robert

Re: Template adjustment

That's right. There should be 2 folders in the includes folder, modules and templates
In modules, there is 1 folder, YOUR_TEMPLATE
In templates, there is 1 folder, YOUR_TEMPLATE, which contains 1 folder, templates

(This is not an Abbott and Costello bit.)

Go here https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=142 and create your custom template folders accordingly. Then change the YOUR_TEMPLATE folders in the mod to the name you chose for your custom template and upload the include folder and contents as is to your Zencart installation root. This will put the files in the proper places.

Then go to your **Admin - Tools - Install SQL Patches **and copy and paste the SQL from the mod files into the box and click send.

Since the patch was already run once, it won't let me run it again. Will that have an affect if I installed the files in the wrong directories in error?

Can I remove the SQL patch so I can try again?

Re: Template adjustment

In column_layout_grid.sql:

The following is used only to remove this mod:

#delete from configuration where configuration_key in('PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE','PRODUCT_LISTING_COLUMNS_PER_ROW');

I believe you would remove the # and paste the rest into your Install SQL Patches page.

However, the SQL does not make any reference to the template foldername, so I don't think you need to do anything with it. Just upload the PHP folders/files correctly.
